Parish Online Map

This walk is dog friendly, and is for those who like woodland walks as large sections pass through woods. The path through Rushmere Park is well marked with yellow way posts.

Up Pound Hill to Green End, turn right down to and passing Home Farm. Where the lane takes a sharp right go through the broken stile into Duncombe Wood. Keep straight on, along the well trodden path passing 2 ponds until you reach Wood Lodge. Through the gate with leylandii Arch and through the ensuing iron gate onto the old A5.

Turn right and follow footpath for ½ mile. Turn right along the bridleway to Rammamere Farm. Straight through Farm passing the ménage on your right and through small field to Rammamere Heath/Bragenham Wood.

50 yards past the ‘Caution Lorries ’ sign fork left taking the narrow path with the yellow post at its start. Follow this through a blue bell glade and cross the field to the kissing gate by Stockgrove main entrance.

Take a break, or cross the road diagonally to the left and take the Stockgrove pedestrian entrance in the fence. Once through the gate, take the left fork in the footpath heading up the slope into Bakers Wood.

Follow this path keeping close to the boundary of Bakers Wood for about 1 mile until you reach Heath & Reach British Legion building. Walk round the front of the building to the right and take the path with the yellow way post and keeping to the left hand fork. After ¼ mile go through the kissing gate and after a short distance down the steep slope, over the stream and up the slope. Keep straight on until you reach the T junction.

Turn right and follow the path which skirts along the side of the wood, passing a small pond on your right for about ½ mile until you come to a footpaths ‘crossroads’ sign. Take the route marked Bucks Circular walk (NOT the Bucks C W short cut one) up the small rise, generally heading in the same direction as the path you have just traversed , after 50 yards the path becomes much better defined. Follow this avoiding any forks off to the left or right until you reach the gate at the bottom of Cuff Lane. Up Cuff Lane to The Three Trees.
