Kiln Farm Cottage
Distance: 3.2 miles.
There are a few ups and downs on this walk, but no stiles to hurdle and most of paths are very well used and easy to follow. Bragenham Lane, although narrow carries very little traffic so it is quite pleasant to walk along.
Start and end at The Three Trees or Old Red Lion if you prefer.
Down Stoke Lane until you reach the barns at Paper Mill Farm. Turn left and follow the sandy track up Partridge Hill until you reach the junction with Ivy Lane. Go straight over and into Bragenham Lane which you follow for approximately ¾ mile.
At Kiln Farm Cottage, turn left at the Footpath sign, through the metal kissing gate and go straight up the field towards the woods of Rushmere. Go through the metal kissing gate into the woods and turn left.
Follow the path which skirts along the side of the wood affording lovely views over to the West towards Soulbury, passing a small pond on your right for about ½ mile until you come to a footpaths ‘crossroads’ sign. Take the route marked Bucks Circular walk (NOT the Bucks C W short cut one) up the small rise, generally heading in the same direction as the path you have just traversed , after 50 yards the path becomes much better defined. Follow this avoiding any forks off to the left or right until you reach the gate at the bottom of Cuff Lane. Up Cuff Lane to The Three Trees.
If you are familiar with Stockgrove/Rushmere woods this route can easily be extended by taking one of the right turns once you are in Rushmere woods.
