On July 7th a showcase of the wonderful photos taken throughout the day of the Jubilee were presented in a beautiful 30 minute rolling montage. Individual photos may be downloaded free from the Lightfolio site - so please take the opportunity to save your memories of the day.
The Jubilee Photographic Competition Results were also announced - congratulations to Penny Cann and Julie Cuthbert for their entries.
Entry money was DONATED to the BUCKS UKRAINIAN REFUGEES FUND with over 1000 people in attendance during the day.
In the lead up to the celebrations, the Three Trees was decorated with red, white and blue pom-poms. St Mary’s held a photo exhibition entitled ‘Our village past and present’ which ran all over the Jubilee weekend.
On the day
There were six fabulous bands playing throughout the day, as well as outlets including Hungry Vegan, Best Butcher b’b’q, Cocky Chick and Calzone Kitchen serving fantastic food. The cricket club bar was open until late to see us through to the end of the evening
The Queen’s Birthday Parade (Trooping the Colour) was shown in the Parish Hall on a big screen whilst the Over 70’s from the village enjoyed their Celebratory Lunch. During the lunch they were entertained by our village soloist Corinne and the Silver Jubilee film
There was a full Village Show with a competition to find the best Floral and Vegetable displays and a baking competition including the best Jubilee Cake! In addition, there was best preserves and an arts and crafts competition including a Jubilee themed Lego model competition
Kids and Teenagers let off steam on the 4 different inflatables, as well as football in the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) and organised games in the Tennis Courts
There was a Children's Fancy Dress Parade and a Fun Dog Show with categories including best puppy, waggiest tail, best child handler, best in Show and more!
